Some of you have probably noticed that the paperback version of The Shard Axe is no longer available from Amazon. I had been told that WotC would be taking it OOP at the end of this year (along with a ton of other books), but it seems to have happened a bit earlier than expected. (See how diplomatic I was about that? Heh.) I believe it is still available at B&N and other places, and of course there's always the ebook version, but the bottom line is if you want a paperback copy, you'd better snag one now while you still can.

Speaking of TSA, the Scribe Awards will be held this weekend at San Diego Comic-Con (Friday from 5-6 in Rm 23ABC, if any of you are going). You may recall, The Shard Axe is up for Best Original Speculative Fiction Novel of 2012. My BFF Gini Koch will be there to accept for me (in the unlikely event of a win), and I've given her a really funny speech to read, so you really ought to try and squeeze the panel in if you can.

And speaking of Gini, don't forget, she and I are doing a joint giveaway of our two newest releases, Skein of Shadows and The Night Beat. Enter here for a chance to win BOTH ebooks! Contest ends 7/23.

So what are you waiting for? FREE BOOKS! Go! Shoo! Heh.

Everything Else

Still no word on Max's scans. I did speak to the oncologist Sunday (long story), but he hadn't reviewed the scans yet at that point, and promised to get back to me by Wednesday. If he doesn't, he probably forgot he gave me his cell phone number back when Max was first diagnosed, and I'll be happy to post it here, so you can ALL call and ask him what the hell the hold up is. That should be fun. ;)

(Okay, I wouldn't really do that. But imagining it makes me smile, heh.)
