Got mugged by an 80-line poem to which my poetry group has responded: "wow," "excellent," "devastating," and "YEOWCH!" I guess they like it, heh. So far, this deployment has yielded three poems (one already sold) and a short story (in progress), and we're only a month or so into it. At this rate, I'll have enough for a book by the time my husband gets home, heh.

Everything Else

On the other hand, while the deployment may be good fodder for my Muse, it pretty much sucks in every other possible way. The garage door opener has gone on strike. The dog is having seizures again, and will probably need her medication upped. EB is having anxiety attacks, and I just discovered YB has a mole on his head (underneath his hair, so it's hard to see) that has gotten bigger and is bleeding. And the doctor can't get him in until tomorrow. Not good.

So, yeah. Can't recommend it, no matter how many stories/poems come out of it. Sigh.

Hang in there, Marce...EB just needs your attention and YB will be just fine, as long as scratching is not involved....which for a kid is nearly impossible (they don't make those head funnels to fit around children's necks for some odd reason). The Muse will keep rattling on, as your attention is on other things and, well, MUSE NEEDS TO BE HEARD!!! :) As long as silence doesn't fall when you NEED it to speak! I'm sure the dog's seizures can be controlled through higher dosages and a quick vet call can confirm that.

All will be okay. Granted, all would be better with hubby around...but you've written a NOVEL for goodness sake....you can handle ANYTHING!

"Mugged by an 80-line poem."

Sounds painful. :) But I guess the "wows" off-set the bruises. lol Good job.

I've been mugged by a sub-plot and even by a minor character who was promised a larger role by her agent, but never by a poem (as I've proven in the past, my abilities doesn't stretch into the poetic).

Any word on when you'll see the cover art for Legacy? Or is it hush hush. ;)
