I just found out my story, "The Short Bus," is going to be published in DEP's second "best of" collection. I also received an invitation from a writer whose work I greatly admire asking if I'd like to be part of an anthology said writer is putting together. And, finally, got the galleys of the novel from my editor; we're one step closer to a real book. Lots of exciting writing news this week!
Everything Else
Busy weekend. The ILs came in Thurday, I had Bunco Friday, EB had a tennis tournament Saturday, and two of my aunts (my mom's sister and the wife of one of my eight uncles) stopped by on Sunday. I have not seen either of these aunts in over twenty years, so it was good to reconnect with them and share pictures and history. I hope we stay in closer contact after this.
We were also supposed to go to a Family Day for families of deployed service members at the local NOSC, but we just had too much going on. That's my social life for you...feast or famine. Heh.
