Rhysling Squeeage

Writing

*Submission, GUD, 2/21

I just found out my poem, "Pilate's Wife," has been nominated for a Rhysling. I honestly thought last year's nomination was a bit of a fluke, so this one tickles me giddy.

Congrats to all the other nominees, several of whom are on my flist - including Jaime, Sam, Deb, Mikal, and others. I'm honored to be keeping company with such talented poets.

Everything Else

Got YB his appointment with the dermatologist, which we are going to have to pay for out of pocket due to the intricacies of military insurance. Boo, hiss.

Talked to hubby for the last time this morning. Next time I hear his voice live, he will be halfway around the world. But at least the clock has started, and every day we survive is a day closer to his coming home. So, there's that, at least.

So, for Lent, I'm giving up my husband, heh. But since that's not really my choice, I'm also giving up chocolate and yelling. I wish I could also give up watching Thomas the Tank Engine, but alas, that is not to be (and I suspect watching it is actually more of a penance, heh).

And on that special note, I must run off to Mass. Happy Ash Wednesday, all!
