Writing

One more week of physical therapy, then we'll find out if I'm going to have to have surgery or not (probably so). In the meantime, I've had recommendations for Dragon NaturallySpeaking voice recognition software. Anybody have any others they can recommend?

Everything Else

Evel Knievel died today. Most people don't know he was from Butte, Montana, only a few miles away from where I was born. My parents knew him. Everyone knew him. He was a womanizer and a drunk, but he was also a hero -- our hero. He became America's, but he was ours first, a hometown boy made good in the craziest way possible. He was as much a part of my life growing up as Schoolhouse Rock, summer snowcones, and my banana-seated yellow Cactus Rose bike. His death feels like losing another piece of my childhood, and makes me unaccountably sad. I never knew him personally, but I'll still miss him.

Rest in peace, Bobby. Happy landing.
