POETRY, TUSCON AND A REAL, LIVE SUPERHERO
Oct. 30th, 2011 10:28 amWriting
Just in time for Halloween, Popcorn Press has released Halloween Haiku, which features short poems by myself and Realms great Elaine Cunningham, along with several luminaries from the world of speculative poetry, including Lyn C. A. Gardner, David C. Kopaska-Merkel, Deborah P. Kolodji, David Lee Summers, and more. The full TOC is here. Definitely worth the price of admission! Check it out!
The schedule for TusCon 38 has also been posted. With everything going on with my dad, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to make it, but it looks like I will be there after all. Yaay!
Here's my schedule:
FRIDAY 11/11/11
*10 PM, Garden Room - reading (maybe from a certain WIP? We'll see, heh.)
SATURDAY 11/12/11
*9 AM, St. Augustine Room - Terrorists, economic collapse, riots, and superbugs. Can you still scare us with fiction? Panelists: Anita Harlan, Marcy Rockwell, Gloria McMillan.
*3 PM, Copper Room - signing
*4 PM, Silver Room - Happily ever after...until next time. Writing the sequel. Panelists: Kathryn Lance, David Lee Summers, Frankie Robertson, Marcy Rockwell, Jeff Mariotte, Jennifer Roberson.
*9 PM, St. Augustine Room - Science Fiction Poetry. Panelists: Larry Hammer, Ingrid Saber, Marcy Rockwell, Gloria McMillan.
SUNDAY 11/13/11
*10 AM, Copper Room - Sex, Race & Religion in genre: Similarities and differences in writing Gay, Black & Christian characters. Panelists: Carol Berg, Marcy Rockwell, Sam Sykes, Gini Koch.
Hope to see some of you there!
Everything Else
Got to spend some time with Max's Runnin' Crew this weekend at a Halloween party at PCH. Great to see them, as always, and they've got some fun things planned to raise money. In addition to what I posted here, it looks like there may be a kickball tournament in the works and a few more opportunities to visit local restaurants and have part of your total receipt credited toward the team. I'll post more as I have details, but in the meantime, I thought I'd leave you with this image. Happy Halloween, all!

(Introducing the Amazing Super Max with his Pumpkin of Cuteness! His powers include the ability to generate smiles in others no matter how cranky they are and bringing cancer begging and pleading to its cowardly knees! Heh.)
