Google alerts informed me of another review for The Shard Axe over at 20ft Radius. My favorite part:
"Sabira. I love her as a character. She is contagious from the first page. She is unpredictable, dynamic and leaving you at the end wanting more of her. She is one of those flawed heroes that can't help but love. There is so much to love about her character. She is very multi-faceted and plays the part of the "unsung hero" quite well."

Glad you like her, Alton! I kind of like her, too. ;)

He also says:
"...it is a very likable novel, but one I would recommend to read after you get through a few of the Eberron novels

Either that, or make a character and run around on DDO for awhile (it's free). Let's face it - the very nature of tie-in work assumes some familiarity with the parent product. I'm sort of baffled by folks who pick up a tie-in book with no prior knowledge of that original property and then are surprised when there are things in it they don't understand. Not that you can't enjoy the book without knowing Eberron or DDO - just that you'll enjoy it MORE, heh. That said, it would have been nice to have had a map of Stormreach (the DDO version) and one of the Mror Holds for reader reference, but, alas, I don't get to make those calls. Maybe they'll do it for TSA2. Hope springs eternal, and all that.

Speaking of TSA2, I finally got my editor's comments back on the first draft. To whit:
"You did a fantastic job with it. I had a great time reading it. Exciting action, great humor, and vivid setting descriptions. I loved the character dynamic you’ve created between Sabira and [redacted] and you brought the world of Eberron to life so well."

Yaay! Also, very little in the way of revisions - I guess I'm getting the hang of this novel-writing thing, heh.

Finally, some DDO news. That Eberron/Forgotten Realms crossover rumor that's been floating around forever and that folks have been denying for just as long? It's happening. Sig and Anne over at DDOcast have a good roundup of relevant links for those of you who might be interested.

Everything Else

Can you say, "Pinewood Derby?" This weekend, baby! Will post a picture of the Marcyville car when all the finishing touches have been added (probably ten minutes before the races start, heh). Wish us luck! LOL.
