Sorry it's been so quiet here, but it doesn't mean I (we) haven't been busy. Hubby/writing partner Jeffrey J. Mariotte and I have turned in final edits on the second book in our Xena: Warrior Princess trilogy, final edits on our Mech:Age of Steel story, "A Single Feather," the first draft of our story for Submerged, "Son of Blob," and we just signed the contract for a new novel. Jeff did such a good job explaining it that I'm just going to steal from his blog post:

We're writing a novel based on the hugely popular, award-winning video game Mafia III. The game tells the story of Vietnam veteran Lincoln Clay, who was adopted as an infant by Sammy Robinson, leader of the Black mob in New Bordeaux, LA (a fictionalized version of New Orleans). Shortly after returning from Vietnam, Sal Marcano's Italian Mafia betrays Sammy, killing him and his son Ellis, Lincoln's brother, and leaving Lincoln for dead. The game's focus is on Lincoln's efforts to take Sal and his operation down, and to take over New Bordeaux for himself and his allies.

Our book will delve into Lincoln's past, specifically his years in Vietnam and his involvement with secret CIA ops in Laos.

The game was developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K Games. The novel will be published by Insight Editions.

More details when we have them. This is going to be fun!

So, like I said, quiet but busy!

Everything Else

Also contributing to the quiet is the fact that our Christmas gift to each other this year is a new house. We close in a week. It happened really fast - we saw the place online, fell in love, got a realtor friend to show it to us, made an offer, and had it accepted, all in the course of about 5 days. Neither of us has ever named a house, but we're calling this place Redwall. I'll post some pictures after it's officially ours. Can't wait!

Anyway, our 2017 is off to a great start - hope yours is, too!
