Writing

Managed to make it to Tuscon Comic-Con, though I pretty much just sat in a chair we had rigged up with pillows and a massage cushion. Got to visit with some old friends and make a couple of new ones. Here are some pics.

Found a Ripley w/Jonesy pop that I just had to get, given our new rescue's name. They even look alike:

I even met another Marcy there:

TCC continues to be the best comic convention in AZ, IMO, and the folks who run it are wonderful. You should really check it out if you've never been.

Jeff and I will also be at TusCon 46 this weekend. It's a pretty laid-back little con, so I should be able to manage it. Here is our schedule (pain levels allowing):

Saturday – Autograph Area
11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Autograph Session
Come get autographs from your favorite folks. Some are even probably selling stuff. With Carolyn Kay, Jeffrey J. Mariotte, Linda D. Addison, Marsheila Rockwell, Janni Lee Simner

Saturday – Panel Room 2
2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Collaborative writing workshop
It really isn`t just one person takes the nouns and adjectives the other gets the verbs and adverbs. Two people have to find one voice. Find out how. With Jeffrey J. Mariotte, Marsheila Rockwell

Saturday – Ballroom
5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Why is social unrest good for horror?
The best of horror comes from the worst of times. Is it expressing the angst? Is it our stress relief? Are we just not creative when we`re happy? With Jeffrey J. Mariotte, Weston Ochse, S.A. Bradley, Chris R. Chavez

Saturday – Panel Room 1
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Writers and Mental Illness – How We Write It, How We Live It
Some authors are troubled. Some characters are troubled. How do those authors overcome? And how do you write those characters with respect? With Carolyn Kay, James Sabata, Marsheila Rockwell

I'm also going to try to make the Open Mic Poetry at 4 (Panel Room 2), but, again, it depends on my pain levels.

Anyway, hope to see some of you there!

Everything Else
Still recovering from surgery, still in pain. Starting physical therapy, so I'm hoping that will help.

Also, I'm doing the 21-Day Gratitude Challenge. I'm on Day 18. If you follow me on FB, you know I've been posting there for accountability purposes. I do think my outlook has improved some. I'd like to think I can make gratitude a lifelong habit, but let's see if I can get through the 21 days first, LOL.

Anyway, since there's every chance I won't post again before then - Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
