Writing

I did not get my ms in early, alas. I sent it at 12:01 AM this morning. The final round of revisions, which involved printing all 359 double-spaced pages out and rereading the entire book, took 8 hours. I found errors on roughly half the pages. I also encountered several of what Orson Scott Card calls "personal cliches" -- little phrases that pop up over and over again in your writing. Apparently, my characters tend to splutter, with sweat beading on their brows, while they come to some decision. Or they did, anyway, until I killed the little darlings. Heh.

The final pass netted me another 150 words, so it went out at a whopping 97,200 words (approx). I'm sure my editor will have fun bleeding all over it. Heh.

But, it's done. And so am I. I intend to go fall into my bed and sleep like a Turmaculus for the next seven hours. G'night, all!

Everything Else

Yeah, right.

Interesting thing #20: I have dark brown hair and wear glasses. Ever since I was a little girl, I've been compared to the Peanuts character Marcie. I've learned to embrace the comparison. She's one hot chick. Heh.
