Writing

Well, much as I'd like to have something to write here, I got nothin'.

Everything Else

EB is on break for two weeks, and will be celebrating his birthday at the end of the month. I've also been taking a class through my church. Not much else going on, except that I'm really depressed, for reasons some of you know about, but I'm trying to keep a stiff upper lip. So if I look like Jack Nicholson when you see me, that's probably why, heh.

Interesting thing #29: I think I was destined to be a military wife. My first husband washed out of the Air Force (something about having problems with authority, heh). Then I dated a "puddle pirate" in the Coast Guard for a few years. And then I married my hubby, who is, as you know, in the Navy reserves. I've just got a thing for guys in uniform, I guess. ;)

I love this.

My first husband washed out of the Air Force (something about having problems with authority, heh).

Heh! My husband got kicked out from the Navy. I do believe problems with authority were mentioned... repeatedly. Unfortunately the doof still has that problem.

I'm really depressed, for reasons some of you know about, but I'm trying to keep a stiff upper lip.

My husband has been working Oregon for months but I'm hoping we can get him home for Christmas for a week, maybe even two. It's a hard situation and he's only a couple of states away. Your family is definitely in my thoughts.

Nothing on the writing front? This, from a gal who has made 58 submissions in the first nine months of 2006? Let me repeat that: FIFTY-EIGHT SUBMISSIONS. That impresses the hell out of me.

It also makes me feel like a lazy slug in comparison. A GUILTY lazy slug, thanks to the Seventh-day Adventist upbringing and the Polish Catholic roots, but that isn't remotely your fault. ;)

First of all,

NUDGE!!!

Go write a pirate short story like the rest of us :D
(so you can bump me out of the anthology ;) -- assuming I get around to writing it. I've got some slow but steady momentum going on my book...)

And regarding men in uniform: Did you watch Officer and a Gentlemen too many times while growing up? Or Top Gun while in junior high? lol You should change you avatar to Debra Winger.

Thanks, Deb. :)

Thanks, ec. Unfortunately, the stats don't compare well to my stats from this time last year:

Total submissions for 2005: 114
Total rejections: 73
Total sales: 19

Then again, I did take four months to write a novel, which had something to do with it, so maybe it *is* more impressive than it looks at first glance. :)

You know, I've never actually seen An Officer and a Gentleman, but Top Gun...oh, yeah.

And Debra Winger, that's funny, considering I'm a big Wonder Woman fan, and she, of course, played Wonder Girl in the TV series. Heh.

You know, I vaguely remember Wonder Girl. I think I had a crush on her... (when I was 6?) Or was it the brunette on Dyna Girl? lol
