Picked up my copy of Paul Crilley's latest Eberron novel, Taint of the Black Brigade. Looking forward to some fun with Abraxis Wren and Torin tonight! Heh.
And in other tie-in news, SF Signal has picked up on Cameron's diss. Why, yes, John, I believe he did just slam an entire industry. But that's par for the course with him. Check out this snippet from this week's Entertainment Weekly:
Funny, I've never heard of a tie-in writer being hired by a merchandising department, but then, Cameron's not about to let a few little things like actual facts get in the way of his colossal ego. You want to write that "novel" yourself, Cameron? Go right on ahead. Maybe the experience will teach you a little respect for ACTUAL storytellers.
Everything Else
The school-year schedule is filling up fast. RE for YB on Monday, allergy shot and Tiger Cubs for YB on Tuesday, RE and Academic Decathlon for EB on Wednesday, allergy shot for YB on Thursday, nothing on Friday (so far), and weekends for playing catch-up on everything that didn't get done during the week. It will get even more hectic in October, when Running Club starts, as there will be practices and meets to shoehorn in for YB, and then again in January when tennis starts for EB. Not to mention various doctor's appointments, playdates, library visits and school projects. I think I worked less when I was pulling 60-hour weeks as an engineer than I do now. But the job satisfaction is a lot higher, heh.

EW: What's this we hear about you writing a novelization of Avatar?
Cameron: I hate that term. A novelization is when the merchandising
department hires a hack writer for $15,000 to adapt my script. This is the
NOVEL.
