Everything Else
Sent out 35 Christmas cards today, and I'm not even half done. I was up until 2 AM folding letters and signing cards and licking envelopes and sticking stamps, so if you get one and it doesn't seem particularly personal, that's why. I was on autopilot.
Did a Toys*R*Us run today with the ILs to get "Santa" gifts. Unfortunately, we had to take YB along. After navigating crazed kamikaze Christmas shoppers on the roads and in the parking lot and aisles full of demolition derby carts, we got everything on our list...and three toy cell phones (a pig, a cow, and an alligator), because YB couldn't pick just one, and his Lola couldn't stand to hear him cry when we tried to put two of them away. Spoiled much? Sheesh.
Interesting thing #47: I entered the Catholic Church as an adult, so I was baptized, received my First Communion and was Confirmed all on the same day - April 20th, coincidentally the birthday of both Hitler and the prophet Muhammad (not touching that one with a ten-foot poll) and the anniversary of the Columbine Massacre. Not exactly an auspicious beginning, but the Church and I celebrated our 5th anniversary this year, and we're still going strong, so I think there's hope we'll overcome the odds. Heh.
