Planet Gazing

Hubby, EB and I got up before the sun this morning to watch the planetary alignment of Jupiter, Mars, and Mercury, and sharing that moment together alone in the cold and stillness inspired me to write a haiku:
predawn winter chill
huddled close, we watch in awe
three planets aligned

You can only see Jupiter and Mercury well in the picture, but if you click on it, you'll get a larger version where I think you can just barely make out Mars off to the right, and Beta Scorpii right above Mercury. Very cool.
Everything Else
Since I was up until 1 AM working on book revisions, I'm going back to bed now. Heh.
Interesting thing #48: I have linonophobia - the fear of string (yes, it's a real phobia - look it up!). Specifically, I have a bizarre aversion to surgical stitches, especially once they have been removed. I think this stems from when I had my appendix removed and found some of the dissolved stitches in my hospital bed. I remember screaming and trying to get off the bed to get away from them. Maybe I thought they were worms, or tiny snakes, I'm not sure. Whatever it was, they freaked me out, and continue to do so to this day. Weird, huh?

(I know linophobia doesn't mean you're afraid of worms, but the similarity with it and the green candy in my mouth had to be commented on)
Cool picture! My wife and I always talk about actually sitting out to see these types of events, but we always forget...
