NOT ENOUGH OF ME

Just finished up working with my editor to finalize the back cover copy for The Shard Axe. What's that, you say? Amazon already has a product description? Well, yes, but...it's probably better if you just ignore that for now. I mean, Amazon doesn't even spell my name right half the time, so how much can you really trust anything they tell you? Heh.
Those of you who've read a lot of my work may have noticed a slight obsession with serial killers. They tend to show up in a lot of my writing - both of my books for WotC have them (or appear to, if Amazon can be trusted, heh), as do a handful of my short stories and a smattering of my poems. Though I've written from both the perspective of the killer and that of the hunter-of-killers, I generally find the POV of the hunter more interesting. That's one of the reasons Criminal Minds is one of my favorite TV shows EVAR (though The Inside, which I discovered late, might have beat CM out for most-favored status, had it not been inexplicably canceled). It's also the driving force behind a new project I'm working on in between tie-in/ghostwriting jobs, which I'm describing as a "paranormal profiler" book. Though I've got some YA things in the works, as well, and an urban fantasy involving an amateur genealogist, there seems to be more interest in this project, so it's been moved to the front burner to simmer while I finish up my other contractual obligations.
I'm now in the (un?)enviable position of having more ideas for books than I will ever have time to actually write. Heh.
Everything Else
A whole slew of doctor visit's for Max this past month or so will culminate today in a trip to the cardiologist for an echo (and EKG). Last time he had one, he was still nursing, so it was easy enough to keep him still for the whole test. But now he's two, and I have to take him to this appointment by myself, since hubby's off saving Japan, so I imagine it's going to be...less than easy. Heh. Also, the cardiologist had predicted that Max's VSD would have closed on its own by his second birthday, but that has not happened. As Max becomes more and more active, the hole presents more of a danger to him, so if it has, in fact, stopped closing, we may be looking at surgery, after all. Hopefully that won't be the case, but, as always, any prayers offered on his behalf would greatly appreciated. Thanks!
