4-Month Response Time, My Ass

Writing

*Submission (2), Star*Line, 1/18
*Rejection, The Pedestal, 1/18 (RT: 5 1/2 months)

I sent out about a dozen queries on outstanding submissions, some from as far back as August 2005 (shame on you, Sandra). Hence the above rejection (actually sent out on 8/30/06, but apparently eaten by email gremlins); I expect several more to follow.

Everything Else

I bought YB a Thomas the Train DVD today at Wal-Mart. I put it on at about 10 AM this morning. It is still playing. Every time I try to turn it off, he screams. I think I have officially gone insane.

I feel your pain, sister. Here it's Pinky and the Brain. Or Curious George. Either way, it's on constant play. Argh!

My son is pretty good about only watching something once a day, though he wants to watch it again the next day, and the next day, and the next day . . . .

I hear you on the writing front. I've only had one reply to the submissions I sent for the last quarter of 2006, and that seems to be a case of "your submission fell behind my filing cabinet," or somesuch.

Remind me not to buy my son any DVDs... His little safari truck that cycles through song is bad enough. Especially when he holds down the button.

Oh God, my son does that, too. Especially with his "Word Whammer" when it cycles through the alphabet.
