With graduation and scans and Excerpt Day, I've been somewhat remiss in letting you know that the June issue of Penumbra is out now. It contains my story, "Epidora," a Marcy-twist on the story of that better-known troublemaker, Pandora.
So. It's out. Go. Buy. Enjoy! Heh.
Everything Else
Max had his annual cardiology appointment today. Amidst all the cancer talk, it's sometimes easy to forget he also has a sizable hole in his heart (a VSD), which we've been watching carefully, since it's very close to his aortic flap and could cause some serious problems if the flap were to be sucked into the hole. But we've been blessed in that, aside from the initial few months where he was in congestive heart failure, the VSD has been little more than a nuisance (at least compared to his other health issues). And we continue to be blessed, because the hole has gotten quite a bit smaller since his last echo, and the cardiologist is very pleased with his progress. Coming on the heels of last week's scans (which we still don't have results for), it's nice to have some good news to celebrate. Thanks, all, for your prayers/good thoughts/general positivity aimed his direction, and hopefully we'll have even more to celebrate next week after his hem-onc clinic visit! FX!
