A GREAT REVIEW AND A NOT-SO-GREAT SCAN

Busy editing the 4th installment of Tales of Sand and Sorcery ("Shaala and the Sea of Dried Tears," which releases 7/20) and finishing up the 5th installment (another Kij story, tentatively titled"Home" "Unmade"), but I did want to point you to this great review of Skein of Shadows over at Brutal Gamer.
If all these reviews and excerpts have whet your appetite (and I hope they have!), you'll be pleased to hear that Skein of Shadows releases in T minus 19 days! I can't wait for all of you to get to enjoy Sabira's next adventure (and to tell WotC you want more of the Shard Axe, heh)!
Everything Else
As you may recall (Bob), Max had his scans back at the end of May. We finally got to go over the results with his oncologist this Tuesday. After some confusion detailed elsewhere, we are going to be repeating his CT scan on July 2nd, since the tumor measurements this time around are at odds with those from the previous two sets of scans. Namely, they're bigger, but an increase in activity isn't borne out by other tests. Both the oncologist and the radiologist think the measurements are wrong (there's a reason they call it "state-of-the-ART" equipment, and it's not because it's pretty), but of course we want to be absolutely sure, hence the follow-up. Still, doctor assurances aren't really all that comforting when you're talking about a bigger tumor in your 3-year-old's abdomen, so I pretty much plan on being a nervous wreck until July. And, as always, any extra prayers/good thoughts you have lying around that you want to throw our way would be greatly appreciated. <3
