HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!

Scored another great review for Skein of Shadows! This one's from Shadowhawk over at The Founding Fields. Here's one of my favorite parts:
Nice, huh? But, really, you should go read the whole review, because it's a good one. (And thanks for the kind words, Shadowhawk!)
And now for the obligatory plea - if you've read the book already and liked it (or ANY of my books, for that matter), if you could leave a review somewhere (Amazon, B&N, Goodreads, your own blog, the men's room at GenCon, wherever), I would be much obliged. And that's not just true for my books, but for books by ANY author whose work you've enjoyed. In a world where the Big Name Authors get the bulk of the marketing budget, the rest of us live or die by word of mouth. If you want to see more of our work, you have to let The Powers That Be know and there are only two ways to do that: 1) buy the books and 2) review them.
Okay, now that that's out of the way, don't forget to enter the giveaway for a free copy, and I'll take care of #1 for you! Heh.
Everything Else

Happy Birthday, America! Looking good for a 236-year-old! Heh.

"The novel itself begins on quite a high and Marsheila totally pulls you in from the first few pages. Her prose is descriptive and evocative and it stays so throughout the novel, which made for a welcome change of pace to some of my more recent readings. With her writing, it is easy to visualise what the characters are doing and what the scene itself is, and what is happening. That is one of her strengths with this novel and she handles the narrative with far more deftness than many other fantasy authors I’ve read over the years. She is almost out there with the top leagues and if she continues to build on this, then she will be in those top leagues. They are just a hop away."
