Back from KillerCon; had a great time. Got to meet some awesome people, like my fellow panelists Nikki Hopeman, Michael McCarty, and Thor (not that one - this one is a homicide detective with the Burbank PD) and fellow SFPA member Michael Arnzen (for whom I did some magnetic Fridge of the Damned poetry), as well as hanging out with my writing partner, Jeff Mariotte, whom I see far too infrequently for someone who lives in the same state as me (though, in fairness, it's a big state). Also got to do a lot of other fun things in Vegas, including the CSI Experience at the MGM Grand.

I also got to meet a few folks whose names I didn't catch, like this guy. We had a brief but pleasant encounter, which is kind of what Vegas is for, right? Heh.

All in all, a fun con, and one I hope I get to go to again.

Everything Else
Came home to news that my mom is in the hospital, and probably will be for the next month. It's pretty serious (a blood infection), but fortunately it was caught before any major damage was done, for which I am extremely grateful. Still, if you have any prayers or good thoughts you'd like to send her way, I'd appreciate it. I just lost one parent - I really couldn't handle losing the other right now.
