Writing

So, I finally got the book turned in on October 1st, and my beta readers loved it, so I'm hoping my editor will feel the same. I'm also hoping I can tell you about it very, very soon. Actually, I'm hoping I might get to announce it at North Carolina Comicon, where I will be a guest on November 9th & 10th, along with my writing partner, Jeff Mariotte. Fingers crossed!

Speaking of Jeff, you may recall that he and I wrote a short story (that turned into a novella) for the Neverland's Library anthology. You may also recall that the Indiegogo campaign to fund the anthology only reached about 60% of its goal. So the editors have launched a Kickstarter campaign to try and raise the last 40% needed to make sure this awesome anthology gets into your hot little hands. Jeff and I are pretty pleased with our contribution, A Soul in the Hand, and we'd really like for you to be able to read it. So if you missed out the first time around, you have another chance to help us make that happen. Give it a look, won't you?

Finally, I know I've mentioned Delia's Shadow, the debut novel by my friend, fellow Muser, author, and poet, Jaime Lee Moyer. I got to beta read this book way back when, and told Jaime then she'd get a three-book deal out of it, because it was that good. Well, the book finally hit stores in September, and I am so excited for you to read it, I'm going to post a little interview with Jaime in a few days, and maybe see if we can't do something about getting someone, somewhere, a signed copy. So, check back - you don't want to miss out on this one, I promise!

Everything Else

So, I don't usually listen to music when I write, but I found myself listening to it a lot during the few times I wasn't writing, and one of the songs I listened to most was Linkin Park's "In the End:"

Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away
(It's so unreal)

Which is becoming more true with every passing day, as the time until my husband is deployed can be easily measured now in weeks instead of months. So, even though my book is done, I probably won't resume my normal frequency of posting here until after he's shipped out. I know it breaks your heart, but there's always FB and Twitter if you're really missing my witty banter. Hope to see some of you there!
