Goodbyes Suck
Writing
Sent my galleys back to my editor today. Very few changes. Looking forward to get a preview of the cover art.
Everything Else
My hubby got 72 hours of liberty before shipping out. It was wonderful to have him home, but saying goodbye was SO much harder this time around. Last time, I knew I'd be hearing from him every day. Now? Well, he'll call me when he gets in to the base tonight, but after that, I don't know when I'll hear from him again. A few days? A week? Two?
And I am reminded of all the wives and families left behind during WWI and II - they were lucky if they heard from their loved ones every few months. Sometimes it was years. I cannot even begin to fathom the strength those women had.
Got freedom? Thank a vet.
Then thank his wife.

I too have been thinking about how glad I am not to have to rely on the postal service for my only contact with my husband during deployment. Our foremothers were certainly made of stronger stuff.

If you need some one to talk to or vent to you are welcome to email me. Even though we haven't actually met yet, we are part of the same family in all this.
Oh, and don't discount your own strength. It will surprise you sometimes.
