LEPRECON RECAP
May. 13th, 2014 02:04 pmWriting
So - as you know, Bob - I was a guest at LepreCon 40 this past weekend. I was scheduled for three days of panels, but got waylaid with a migraine on Mother's Day, so sadly did not make it to my lone panel on Sunday. But I had a good time the days I was there, getting to see old friends and making some new ones, including the delightful Jamie Wyman, who has already recapped the con from her perspective. Since she touches on several things I would have mentioned, I'll let you pop over to her blog and read that before continuing. No need to reinvent the wheel, after all.
Back? Awesome.
Jamie and I were on a lot of panels together, and they were all good ones (she is an excellent designated adult, heh). One of the ones we weren't on together was the Fighting Crime panel, which I got to be on with the author GOH, Gail Carriger. I'd never met Gail before, but she was funny and insightful and not at all proper, despite the white gloves. ;) She and the other panelists had a lot of really interesting things to share, and it was probably my favorite panel of the con (and not just because I got to wear Sgt. Tony from Mesa PD's detective badge for it, because he'd taken pity on me for my badge woes the previous day). And not because we spent time talking about Sun City prostitution rings, either, though that topic got quite a reaction from panelists and audience alike, heh.
Anyway, I had a good time and was glad to have been able to attend; I hope they were as glad to have me.
Pictures or it didn't happen, so:

Everything Else
I hope all the moms out there - biological, adopted, step, Mr., etc. - had a lovely Mother's Day. I got to spend it with all three of my boys, so it was pretty much the best day ever. :)
