Nothing much to report for myself, but the fantastic Jaime Lee Moyer has this lovely gem coming out in the fall, which you should snag the very SECOND it becomes available for pre-order! Just saying.
Everything Else
Spent my birthday week recovering from a Grade 4 scorpion sting. Let me tell you, people who have never been stung, have been stung but not injected with venom, or have been stung and injected but not to the Grade 4 level - I'm really glad you were spared, but don't presume to judge the experience of others based solely on your own very fortunate one.
It f-ing HURTS. I've delivered three children, had two back surgeries, a burst appendix and gallstones (not all at the same time, duh). I am no stranger to pain, and no wimp. THIS pain was worse than ANY of those others. My toe is still numb and tingly with random fiery flares almost a week later and I'm still feeling after-effects from the anti-venom they gave me (which God only knows if insurance will cover, and that's a pain of a whole different sort).
If one more person says to me, "I was stung and that didn't happen to ME," I will not be responsible for what happens next. You've been warned.
