I have not updated in a while (more on that in a bit), so I have a couple of recaps.

CoKoCon2019 was awesome, as always. Got to see some old friends and make some new ones, the panels were well attended, and Beth Cato brought cookies! (Though I missed out - next year, for sure!) Best panel by far was on spoon management, with authors sharing their coping strategies for dealing with mental health issues, shedding some light on a subject that is too often draped in shadows.

The signing at Spooky's Swirls went great - we sold a ton of books, met some wonderful folks, and got to snack on yummy treats! Thanks for having us!

And Straight Outta Deadwood released on Oct 1, containing my story "Dreamcatcher," which delves into the Ojibwe roots of that talisman, and Jeff's story "Sunlight and Silver," which is also delightfully creepy. Check it out!

Tucson Comic-Con and TusCon 46 are scheduled for November, but I'm not sure yet that we'll be attending those. See below.

Everything Else

I wound up having an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (2-level) on September 24. I was in a lot of pain prior to that, and continue to be in pain, though hopefully that will lessen as time goes by and my body recovers from the indignity of being cut open and having metal stuff put in it. In the meantime, typing at a keyboard becomes excruciating very quickly (hence the lack of updates). I'm off work for at least six weeks while I heal up. But I did get a nifty scar out of it.

Anyway, that's about it for me. Happy Autumn!
