Nice birthday present, heh.

Everything Else

Went to Good Friday services with the ILs today after preparing lunch for a family of missionaries. As part of his homily, our priest told the story of a Parisian boy who went to Confession on a dare from his friends. The French priest, after hearing the boy's fictional sins, told him that for his penance, he needed to go up to the front of the church and kneel before the cross. There, he was to say five times, "Jesus, You died for me, and I don't care."

The boy couldn't do it. After repeating it three times, on the fourth, he broke down and had a total conversion of heart. That boy later became a Cardinal in the Catholic Church.

That story nearly brought me to tears (but in a good way).

And in other news, thanks for all the birthday wishes! Since it's Good Friday, we won't be celebrating today, but I did get to open my framed Michael Komarck print (I'll try posting a picture later) and enjoy my four dozen roses from my husband (two for this year, and two for the birthday he missed because he was in Iraq). Yup, I'm spoiled, and I love it! Heh.
