Writing

Okay, I had so much news, I couldn't fit it all into yesterday's post (go check it out if you haven't already). So you get another entire post today! Yaay!

First, though, my Guest Author spot is live over at Literary Escapism. You could win a signed copy of The Shard Axe! But even if you already have a copy, please stop by and leave a comment. I believe this is the first tie-in book LE has featured, and I would love it if we had a good showing. Thanks! :)

I have the release schedule for my first three ebooks in the "Tales of Sand and Sorcery" series being published by Musa Publishing.

1) "Shaala, Made of Stone," Jan 20, 2012
2) "The Jade and Honey Harlot," Feb 17, 2012
3) "Both," Mar 16, 2012

And we'll be releasing a new ebook once a month for the entirety of 2012; I'll post ordering information when it's available. Now, obviously, with a release schedule like that, these are NOT full-length novels - sorry if there was any confusion about that! These will range from short stories through novellas, and will be priced accordingly. This structure gives me the opportunity to tell more stories in the setting than I could otherwise, and I'm very excited about the opportunity to bring you some strong female sword & sorcery characters. I hope you will be equally excited to read about their adventures!

In poetry news, my poem, "Sandpainting on Mars," will be out in the September 2011 issue of Dreams & Nightmares. D&N garners a lot of Rhysling nominations, and this is only my second appearance in its pages, so I'm pretty happy about this one.

Finally, there's one more countersigned contract that I'm waiting for, and once I have it, I'll be making a VERY exciting announcement, so, as always, stay tuned!

Everything Else

In Max news, he is almost caught up on his immunizations, which we had to postpone due to chemo, so that's good. We still can't do the MMR because of his egg allergy, but everything else is current. This is another big milestone in the life of a child with cancer, and we're very happy to be able to declare, "Post-treatment Achievement UNLOCKED!" Heh.

In even better news, we had his blood pressures checked before the shots and they were awesome, which means he's off the medication for good and we officially don't have to see the nephrologist anymore! One more specialist down - three to go! Woohoo!
