Writing
While the FB auction for cancer angel Tyler Burdick's family is still going on, I am happy to report that there are no longer any signed copies of The Shard Axe available - they've all been spoken for! Thanks SO much to everyone who has participated in the auction so far, whether it was to get my book or something else. The money raised will go directly to help cover final expenses for little Tyler. Remember, the auction runs until November 20th, so if you haven't made it over there yet, go take a look - there are still some great items up for bid. Don't miss out!
In other writing-related news, the Winter 2011 issue of Big Pulp is available for pre-order and it includes my poem, "What Blooms in Winter." I wrote three poems while my husband was deployed to Iraq back in 2007, two of which have already been published and were nominated for the 2008 Rhysling Award ("Those Who Wait" and "Brothers in Arms"). This is the third and final deployment-related poem to be published, and it's by far the darkest of the bunch. Why not order a copy of the magazine and check it out for yourself?
Finally, I'll be heading down to TusCon in a few days, where I'll get hang with some of my favorite writer peeps, including Gini Koch and Jeff Mariotte. Come on by and say hi!
Everything Else
Happy (early) Veterans Day, all, and to all our military men and women out there - thank you. Always.

"To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country's service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations."
-- Woodrow Wilson, November 11, 1919
