My Fingers Hurt!

Writing

Just finished the first draft of my story for the S&S antho. 7,000 words in three days. That may not seem productive to some, but it is a new record for me. Now I just need to round up some beta readers who can turn a story around in 24 hours, heh.

(And, thanks, Stu!)

EDIT: Thanks so much to all the folks who offered to beta read this story! You all rock! :)

I think I've got enough folks now to get a good feel for if the story works or not, so I don't need any more volunteers at the moment (unless, of course, they all say they hate it, heh). If that changes, I'll post an update here.

Thanks!

Everything Else

I have managed to lose almost 20 pounds since my hubby got deployed, despite the presence of both Girl Scout cookies and enough Easter candy to feed a small European country. Yaay, me!

Thanks so much, ec!

I sent it from my gmail address, since Yahoo tends to eat my files. Let me know if it doesn't come through, and I'll resend.

Awesome job all around. Are you still doing WW?

Yup - though I really need to be getting more exercise.

Yay on your weight loss! Yay you!

Saying Hello

Hi! I'm Alicia; Kyrie pointed me in your direction--it'd be fun to get to know you. I was at the Book Festival too; thanks for posting the great pictures!

Do you still need beta-readers? I'm making my first foray into the world of beta-reading (loving every moment of it), and if you still need any more, I'd be glad to help. I've been reading Sword and Sorcery since the first couple of books (catching up) and I've just been awed by the stories--congratulations so much for being picked for that!

Anyway, if you reply to this comment I'll get it in my email; for beta-ing purposes, my email is sheenedra@hotmail.com . Congratulations again on all the great news!

Alicia

Hi, Alicia - nice to "meet" you!

I didn't actually get "picked" for the S&S antho (I wish!) Unlike in some previous years, it's not invitation only this year, so anyone can send in a story.

And I think I'm good on beta readers, thanks, but I'll definitely keep you in mind for future projects! :)

Who is editing S&S now? Well, maybe that's good that they're letting new people in--all the best to you and your story.

I'm so glad you have enough betas--sure, though, keep me in mind for later.
