It Ain't Easy Being Green

*SALE!, Poetry from the Trenches, 9/17 (RT: 5 days?)
This was the haiku I posted on 9-11; she's holding the longer poem I submitted on 9/14. I let hubby read the longer poem and he passed it along to a few of the guys in his unit. He hardly ever does things like that, so I know he thinks it's good, which makes me all warm and fuzzy, sap that I am. Heh.
Everything Else
Our pool is green. I'm not exactly sure how it happened (aliens again?), but apparently the remote has not been communicating properly with the pool equipment outside and all this time I thought the pump was happily running during the wee hours, it hasn't been. So now I get to go clean it. Yuck.
Also, about a month ago, Yahoo began scrambling my outgoing doc files, though I could send rtf files with no problem. Yahoo, apparently perturbed that I was able to work around its evil bug, has now begun scrambling my rtf files as well. And my computer is virus/adware/spyware-free, so I know it's the email program. So now I'm looking for a new one. Any suggestions?
Interesting thing #26: I have had many nicknames during my life, including Marce, Mars Bars (somewhat self-evident) and Twinkletoes (because, as a child, I used to tippie-toe whenever I walked). I believe the oddest name I've ever had, however, is one I chose for myself. Apparently, as a youngster, I would put on little skits to help cheer up sick or sad relatives. I would drape an old blanket over my shoulders, use a stick for a cane, push my glasses to the end of my nose, hunch my back and totter around while I dispensed wisdom in a crackly old lady's voice. This character, whom I seem to have (thankfully) repressed all memory of? Lubby-dubby. Heh.

Date: 2006-09-18 08:41 pm (UTC)I'll second hotmail. I moved my main email to mail.com about 6 years ago because of the amount of spam my hotmail account was getting. Even though I still use that account for forum and internet memberships, the amount of spam is way down. They've really improved the filters. If I could get saetter at hotmail.com, I'd switch my main account.
(Don't use mail.com. The ads are the pits).

Free, tons of archive space for storing writing and other stuff. I've used it since it first started and have never had a problem with it.
