*Rejection, Poetry from the Trenches antho, 10/9 (RT: 3 weeks)
Said antho is now filled and closed -- my untitled 9-11 haiku made the cut, and will, in fact, be the lead poem, if I'm reading the TOC correctly. Looks like it's going to be an awesome chapbook, boasting the likes of Joe Haldeman, Bruce Boston, and seven members of my super-secret, bent-on-taking-over-the-genre-poetry-world poetry group. Heh.
Everything Else
EB and I are working on a very cool science project. We are growing green beans under different colored lights (clear, yellow, blue and red, with a control group growing under natural daylight) to see which color is the most conducive to plant growth. We've postulated clear lights, since they most resemble natural daylight, but I've seen blue "plant lights" at the store, so I'm guessing we're wrong. It will be fun to find out, though.
I just read this article about head circumference in children being directly linked to intelligence. The article says the mean head circumference for a 1-year-old is 46.6 cm. At 12 months, YB's head circumference was 51.3 cm. I have, naturally, concluded that YB is going to be a freaking genius. Just like his mom. Heh. ;)
Interesting thing #31: Despite the above assertion, my I.Q., as tested in third grade, was only 126. I'm guessing I've dropped a few points over the years, heh.
