It is time, once again, for the SFPA membership to make their annual Rhysling Award nominations! This year, due to circumstances you've read about here ad nauseum, I have very little to offer in the way of eligible poems:
Short Category
*"Maple Season," Ruthless Peoples Magazine #2, April 2009 (25 lines)
*"Nonrenewable Resources," Star*Line 32.4, July/August 2009 (20 lines)
*"Of Amaranth and Honey," Paper Crow #0, Fall/Winter 2009 (15 lines)
Long Category
Nothing this year
If any SFPA members would be interested in seeing the above poems, please email me and I'll be happy to send them to you in a (very small) file.
Everything Else
Hubby is in the PI for his grandmother's funeral -- he left on New Year's Day and will be gone for a week, about four days of which will be nothing but travel. He flies back in next Monday morning and will go straight from the airport to work and then to Max's next oncology visit (no scans, just bloodwork, urine tests, and antibiotics). Yes, I'm fully expecting he will then go home and crash, hard, so we won't really see him again until Tuesday, heh. He wasn't going to go (we can't afford it, and he's got a lot of deadlines at work), but his dad's pretty broken up about it all (understandably), so he felt like he had to. First born Asian son and all that. Anyway, if you think about it, please pray for comfort for all those who are grieving and safe travel back to the US. Thanks!
ETA: EB got invited to the Fiesta Bowl tonight, only the second college football game he's ever been to. And he made it on TV. 7:21 remaining in the 4th, the Boise State fans celebrating. He's the guy in the black sweatshirt. Sniff. I'm so proud. Heh.
