*Submission, Arkham Tales, 1/15
Guess we'll see if the editor still likes the story enough to buy it (again) after almost a year, heh.
Luckily, I never delete emails, since that's the only way I had access to this particular story, seeing as my desktop got infected by the "Internet Security 2010" virus this morning (despite having MacAfee up and running, grrrr...). Since my computer was hideously slow to begin with, with all the pop-ups generated by IS2010, I couldn't even access MacAfee long enough to run a scan and get rid of the damnable thing. So I had to take it in to Data Doctors, and I'm now using my tiny little netbook I got for Christmas while they work their expensive magic on my desktop. Luckily, I still have access to a fairly recent set of files for the book, so I'll be able to continue working without too much of an interruption. But to say I am an unhappy camper would be to vastly understate the situation.
Everything Else
In regards to the above, I've always wondered how safe your personal information is with places that fix computers. I haven't heard of any cases where stolen information was traced back to one, but I guess they're savvy enough to cover their tracks if they did misappropriate said information, so how would you really know?

Date: 2010-01-16 07:43 am (UTC)The only thing I'm really concerned about is the financial info, but after the identity theft problems in '08, I got one of those protection services, so hopefully if anything untoward does happen, it will be caught before any damage can be done. There's not really much else I can do, I suppose.
Sigh.
