Still plugging along (for certain values of plugging, as Jaime would say).
Everything Else
This day sucked, in various and sundry ways.
Dropped hubby off at the airport this morning (gone for a week to Pearl Harbor on Navy business). His flight was delayed, and while he's now where he's supposed to be, his luggage is not. The luggage with his uniform in it. That should make mustering fun tomorrow.
On the way to the airport, we found out my FIL got laid off from his job. The ILs were already hurting financially (they'd rented out their house and moved in with my MIL's sister to try and save money), so this is a particularly harsh blow.
When Max and I got home from our airport run, there was a message on the answering machine from Max's oncologist. Apparently the lab didn't run all of the tests they were supposed to last time we were in, so we have to go back in tomorrow to re-do them (of course, the airport is a hop, skip and a jump from PCH, so if they'd just called my cell, we could have hopped, skipped and jumped over there after we dropped hubby off and saved ourselves a trip).
Then YB had his second running club race after school. He came in 349th out of about 360 kids. Ouch. Luckily, he has no idea just how bad he did, and we will not be telling him.
And then my cat died. My cat who I've had for ten years. I knew it was coming, as she'd been sick for awhile, but she really started going downhill fast in the last couple of days. And I couldn't even be there to comfort her in her last moments, because Max was having a screaming fit and I had to get him calmed down enough that I could set him down and go be with my kitty. By the time I was able to get to her, it was already over -- her body was still warm, but she was gone. I didn't even get to say goodbye.
And I know I'm not the only one who had a truly craptastic day. (::HUGS::) So the sooner Tuesday, January 26, 2010 is a just a bad memory, the better.
