Writing

Got the majority of my edits on my first draft today, with the rest to follow on Monday. My editor has some good comments, and I'll have some fun tinkering to do. He did have the following to say, which made me blush.

"I'm enjoying the story very much, and I must say I am EXTREMELY impressed by the quality of your prose. Your craftsmanship as a poet really shines through."

Between him and Elaine, I may develop an ego. ;)

Everything Else

Crazy weekend. The ILs are supposed to be coming today, but we found out this week that my MIL's brother has cancer (spots on the lungs and liver) and they may or may not be stopping in Vegas to see him first. A phone call to let us know would be nice. Heh.

THREE birthday parties this weekend, and a wedding. Plus hubby leaves next week for yet another 4-day drill (that makes two this month, if anyone besides me is counting). And YB just started running a fever around noon. Like I said, crazy.

Oh, and speaking of crazy, have you read this? Apparently Reggie didn't fumble, and Vince did. What good is instant replay if it doesn't work? Sheesh.

Interesting thing #42: I have had every "unnecessary" organ removed from my body - appendix, gall bladder and tonsils. Anything else goes to pot (what does that mean, anyway?), and I'm in trouble. Heh.

Adenoids too? I've had those out, but the rest is still in place.

Yes, the adenoids went with the tonsils. They were very close, and the adenoids couldn't bear to be parted from the tonsils. Heh.

Hee. My adenoids went because they were attempting a hostile takeover of my entire sinus cavity. The tonsils stayed neutral, though, and got left alone.

Re: Editor's Comments
That's great! Nothing new to me, but it's still cool to hear the editor say it. ;)

Thanks, Stu! :)

You don't suppose they're just harvesting your organs for the hoo-haw of it, do you M?

Heh. No, my appendix ruptured, my gall bladder was leaking and my tonsils were in shreds from so many bouts of strep throat. I don't think anybody would WANT those organs. Heh.

Ouch... Hey God! Stop giving us parts from the "factory-seconds" pile!

Alternately, do you think that the organs being as redundant as they are, mean that in evoltuionary terms in a few million years we won't have them anymore?

That's entirely possible. Assuming we as a race survive that long. Heh.

We're too selfish and brutal not to. :D
