Looks like I'm going to be a panelist at CopperCon 30 this year! Not sure of exact dates/times yet, but I'll post details as I have them. I might even get to be on a panel with Stephen R. Donaldson. Considering that my high vocabulary SAT scores can be directly attributed to his Thomas Covenant books, that will be fangirlishly surreal.
Everything Else
Did a mini-movie marathon this weekend, since hubby's away on Navy business. Short reviews follow:
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel: Everything you'd expect, and nothing you wouldn't. C.
Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths: I'm not sure how true to the comics this was, but I enjoyed it a lot. Owlman and Superwoman were especially well done. A-.
Sherlock Holmes: It was okay. I liked the characters better than the overall story. Glad I didn't pay to see it in the theater. C.
The Blind Side: A little too sanitized for my tastes, but enjoyable, especially since it's based on a true story. I didn't think Sandra Bullock was that bad. B.
Law Abiding Citizen: The ending was a bit of a letdown, but the writers left themselves no other option, storywise. Jamie Foxx's character's implied transformation didn't strike me as real or lasting, so, ultimately, the story didn't really succeed. C.
Still have The Hurt Locker left to watch. Hopefully, we've saved the best for last.
