*SALE!, Doomology Antho, 5/18 (RT: 2 months)
This story is a perfect example of why I never trunk anything permanently (unless it's not finished and I know I'm probably never actually going to finish it). I have been shopping this one around in various forms for more than 10 years. A good story will always find a market. Sometimes you just have to wait for that market to be born, heh.
Everything Else
EB & YB both had dentist visits today. In a reversal of fortune, YB's teeth now look great and EB's...don't. He's got a pretty bad cavity, mainly because, despite my gentle, loving reminders, he often simply doesn't brush. But now (hopefully) he's learned that good teeth genes will only take you so far -- you still have to apply goo to bristles and bristles to enamel if you want to keep from looking like an extra in Deliverance.
YB's allergy test results came back. An IgE level of 100 is considered indicative of allergies. His was 547. Bermuda grass was one of the worst culprits. Unfortunately, pollen from bermuda grass can be found riding the air currents almost everywhere on the planet. So moving to Antarctica probably won't help, after all.
The combination of stronger antibiotics and asthma meds do seem to have finally quieted his persistent dry, hacking cough. But now he's caught Max's cold (which is probably a virus since Max's ears were a little red and his white blood cell count was high at the oncologist's yesterday), so he's developed a more productive cough, but that should pass once the cold runs its course. Hopefully.
And Max's blood pressure was high at the oncologist's office, and it's been running high for awhile now. I think the nephrologist is going to want to do some tests, because the higher readings can no longer be attributed to either his VSD or the tumor, so there must be something else going on.
Sometimes I feel like I'm living a never-ending episode of Mystery Diagnosis.
