And got my Rhysling votes in, a whole 24 hours early! Go, me!
Everything Else
Took Max in to see the allergist (after his 15-month WBV showed he'd gained no weight since his 1-year visit, much to his pediatrician's concern). Did skin testing, but it came up with nothing (which isn't that unusual with food allergies), so now we're 36 hours into a 48-hour patch test. Most of his reactions have been delayed, which usually indicates non-IgE-mediated food allergies, and the patch test is better at picking those up. The allergist also thinks we may be dealing with Eosinophilic Esophagitis, so we'll be taking Max in to a GI specialist and having biopsies of his digestive tract taken in order to confirm or refute that diagnosis, poor little guy. Seems like we just get one thing under control (more or less) and a whole new issue pops up. He just can't seem to catch a break. :(
Speaking of poor little guys, YB started allergy shots this week after his 6,244 medicines proved unable to completely conquer his hackalung. He was terrified, of course, but he actually did really well. I'm sure the promise of Legos helped to dull the pain somewhat, heh.
For those playing along at home, the doctor appointment count for the month of July is as follows:
Max: 8
YB: 8
Did I mention how glad I am that we've already met our deductible for the year? Sheesh.
