Speaking of The Shard Axe (and when are we not, heh), had a nice review posted over on the DDO forums by user hobs. Since most of you probably don't have access over there, I thought I'd post part of it here:

"I have to say, after having read some high quality fantasy recently (Rothfuss and Martin), The Shard Axe reaches a lot closer to those exemplars, than the typical Dungeons and Dragons book, with characters with deep motives, plausible not completely wooden love subplots, some philosophical heft in motives, and at least a somewhat compelling detective line. All in all, I'm quite satisfied."Pretty high praise. :)
