Writing

Seems to be a bit of confusion on the submission deadline for the Scribes. Technically, the Awards are for tie-in books published between January 1 and December 31 of a given calendar year. In theory, I suppose an author might not get copies of a book coming out in December prior to that month and so might need to submit later than the December 1st deadline I announced here. In an effort not to leave those people out, it looks as though the submission deadline will be extended to December 31st. So you still have time. However, I can't promise that one of my over-taxed minions, upon opening a late submission and discovering it was actually published in March of 2008, will not burn said submission in effigy instead of reading it, and I don't know that I'd blame them. Considering that the submission period is open ALL YEAR, there really doesn't seem to be any valid excuse for not getting a first or second quarter book in before now, IMO.

And in more upbeat news, thanks to the wonder of Google alerts, I discovered a very nice review of Legacy of Wolves on Erica Naone's blog. Go check it out and tell her what good taste she has! ;)

Everything Else

And in even more upbeat news, EB is currently carrying 1 A and 5 B's. Considering how he was struggling at the beginning of the year, I'm both extremely pleased and quite relieved. AND someone turned in his cell phone, which we was stolen a few weeks ago. So it's been a pretty good week in Marcyville, all things considered.

speaking of Legacy of Wolves -

I did finish reading it. And my suspicions on the badguy was straight on.

However, that's not the part of the ending that really pissed me off.

IRULAN!!!

She was supposed to be the paladin's suppository (y'know for that seriously large stick they all seem to have twixt their nethers!?) and show him he can be *faithful* without being *rigid* and then she goes off and betrays him!?

And for what? To make sure that the werewolf is killed? Which was going to happen anyway? So it seems that she acted completely out of character, threw away her chances with the paladin and all for naught.

Please tell me this was one of those required editor things because the novel read like it was written by an author with WAY more talent than this!
(oh, and the housemarked assassin needs to return. She was cool!)

Okay, sorry, rant over.

Now a question:

Got anything else coming out soon?
