Many of you know Beezer of the critically-acclaimed Beezer Review (or you should, anyway, if you popped over to read his review of Legacy of Wolves when I posted the link). He's reviewed about a million WotC books over the years, and has no doubt impacted the sales of same. Well, he posted some pretty sad news yesterday. Please remember him in your prayers; I know I will.

Everything Else

In happier news, I can't believe I forgot to mention that my Huskers actually made it back into the Top 25 this season (they debuted at #24)! Considering they haven't even been ranked since 2005, this is HUGE! Surely it marks a return to Husker glory! (Or, you know, at least a reprieve from ignominy, heh.)

I'd be remiss if I didn't also mention that hubby's Trojans are currently #3 (and will likely go higher after they scrub the field with Ohio State this evening).

Also, a quick Max update, and an appeal. Max's clinic visit Friday went well, though he is severely neutropenic (his ANC was 116), so we've enacted the post-chemo quarantine to try and keep him from contracting anything that could land him in the ER (since a fever = instant hospital admission). His platelets were also very low -- luckily, they weren't quite low enough to need a transfusion, considering there is a severe platelet shortage in Phoenix right now, and he couldn't have gotten a transfusion even if he did need it.

If you're in the area, or anywhere really, and are able to donate blood, please consider doing so -- you never know whose 5-month-old baby you could be helping out. (Plus -- cookies! Need I say more?)

I do not live in the Phoenix area. However, I have an appointment to donate blood on Tuesday. Alas, can't to the apherisis ("double red") donations because I am under the minimum height. (Most women are.)

Still, I second that to anyone out there who is eligible to donate blood. it doesn't take that long, hurts no more than having blood drawn for testing, and a single pint can save three lives. Plus, the RC gives you cookies.

I needed a transfusion for a surgery when I was very small. They wanted my parents to replace the two pints they felt would be needed. One parent would, the other would not. Fortunately, the hospital only ended up needed the one. Otherwise, someone could have died because someone else wouldn't let a needle be stuck into their vein.

I'm off to post a plea of mine own and link...

Thanks for boosting the signal! And thanks for donating -- even if Max can't use it, SOMEbody can.

That's my thought. I figure the more people who see the message, the more it will get through to.

Still sending good thoughts for Max.

I wish I could. FWIW, I'll keep all of you in my thoughts.
